Motorcycle tragedy at Pukekohe raceway

Derek Hill and Aucklander Phillip Harrison died instantly when they collided about 11.20am yesterday during the final lap of a national 600cc Sports Production championship race.

Derek is survived by his partner Tia and their 18-month-old son (Madix).
Derek was an experienced, successful racer who was well known to all of us in the New Zealand motorcycle community.

He is our immediate past president and had been one of the star riders in the national Formula 3 race series.

Our hearts go out to family and friends at this time. There is no way to put into words how we are feeling at this time.


The funeral service will be held on Friday (14th March) at 1pm at Heretaunga Christian Centre map
