Cam Jones (1992-2012) RIP

On Day 26 (and very appropriate that) at 8.06am.
Cameron chose to leave us all. His passing was very peaceful, painless and quick and Peter was with him. He has fought a brave fight. He has had so many wonderful people around to say goodbye to him this week. As a family we have valued your support. We were truly blessed to have such a kind and loving young man as part of our family and his memory will always be very much alive. Our thoughts are with you all as you grieve Cameron in your own way.

Manfeild Garage Hire

Posted on 12 Jan 2012

From Manfeild: We are starting to get a lot of bookings where 4-5 guys are sharing a garage. Initial booking is made by Joe Blogg who only wants to pay his portion and expects the other guys sharing the garage to pay us their portion. This is a nightmare for us.
Because of this, from now on, if Joe Blogg books the garage, regardless of who or how many are sharing, Joe Blogg is responsible for full payment and it's up to them to get the money from the others.

Round Five Raffle Winner

The winner of our HJC Helmet for Round 5 was Jayden Carrick with winning ticket 55 which just happens to be his bike number! The raffle ticket was brought by Greg Brodie who sponsors Jayden!
Jayden is an ace SuperMotard rider now transferring his skills to an F2 bike. Hopefully we will be seeing some of the sideways action we used to seeing from him on the SuperMotard on his F2 machine!
Thanks to TSS Red Baron Alicetown for their assistance in supplying the HJC helmet for this round. Be sure to check out the TSS Red Baron new Superstore opening at 411 – 413 Cuba Street, Alicetown (just south of their current store), on November 30th.

Round Six coming up!

Posted on 25 Sep 2011

Now's the time to start getting your entries in for Round Six. Pre-entries close on 21st October.

We are using long track (Track 1) for all classes except Streetstock, Minilite, Prolite and F4 which will be short track (Track 2). Yes - F4. Get your Bucket entered!

Remember that this year it's a best of five rounds points: if you have done six rounds your best five count. If you have done five rounds all five count, if you have done four rounds all four count. It's all still open season in most classes!

The final round and Series Prize Giving will be held at the track after racing is finished.

Round Five summary

Posted on 25 Sep 2011

Well, that was a messy meeting. The weather finally had a say in how the racing was going to be run. Posties went out on a dry track and by the time they got to the grid positions the track was soaked! For safety reasons we abandoned the race for 20 minutes to do tyre changes; by which time the rain had stopped.

Please note: There is only one class we run in the Winter Series that has a 'wet race' rule and that is ProTwin! We do not have to declare any other class, or the meeting, 'wet'.

Four standout incidents: Our F1 series leader hitting flag point four and bouncing off, Another crashing into pit entry, the riderless bike running mid-pack in turn two and the two-bikes-one-rider in turn one. Then there was all the usual race day incidents AND the weather... Thankfully only two races were stopped short due to red flag incidents (bikes laying on the track) and we completed the race programme.

The Club has T-shirts for sale - a limited edition for this Series. $30 each. I will get an article up with photos but if you want one send an email to me with your name, address and size.

The raffle this round was an HJC helmet supplied by TSS Red Baron. All proceeds went to the Vic Club Scholarship Programme.

Next Round is at Taupo on the 29th of October. Don't forget the MotoTT Trackday on the Friday and the Post Classic meeting on the Sunday!
